OptiColour 200 (120) is a newly produced, carefully coated ISO 200 colour negative film made in Germany. Based on the NC200 emulsion, it offers a balanced and naturally warm look suitable for medium-format photography. The film features a daylight-balanced profile, dependable exposure latitude, and an orange-mask base that supports clean scanning and accurate colour correction in both home and lab workflows.
In medium format, OptiColour 200 performs steadily in daylight, mixed light, and general outdoor situations. Colours lean toward a gentle warm rendering with natural skin tones and slightly enhanced greens and reds. Its moderate contrast helps maintain detail in highlights and shadows, while the film’s behaviour in scanners remains predictable and straightforward, avoiding colour shifts and keeping adjustments simple.
Produced in small batches, the film may show subtle variations between rolls, but the overall character remains consistent: fine-to-medium grain, stable colour reproduction, and strong sharpness for an ISO 200 stock. Slight overexposure (½–1 stop) can further smooth tonal transitions and reduce shadow grain, especially beneficial in medium format where detail is more pronounced.
