Temperature sensor problem

Seems like your AGO thermometer needs calibration or looks like your unit is reading lower temperatures? Here are a couple of potential solutions.

Temperature drop

Usually the temperature drops quite a lot when you pour the first chemical into the cold tank. To be sure that the temperature sensor is off you can measure the temperature with your thermometer once liquid is in the tank and compare your thermometer reading with AGO. This can be done just with warm water, no film in.

Even the type of graduate you use may effect the chemical temperature enough to cause big drop from just pouring the chemical. You may want to try using a pitcher with smaller surface area to eliminate more temperature drop-off

Heating your chemicals to counter the drop of chemical temperatures

If you don’t have a heating system, heat your chemicals a few degrees higher than stated, as the temperature usually drops by 2-4°C (4-8°F) during development, depending on the tank size and ambient temperature.

For the AGO film processor, heat the chemicals near the recommended temperature, and the AGO will adjust the process time accordingly.

Certification of AGO Film Processor temperature sensors

Three AGO Film Processors’ temperature sensors were tested by an accredited calibration laboratory AS Metroset in Estonia on the 1st of October 2024. The test showed no issue with AGO Film Processor temperature sensors.
