Step 1 Insert the film

Push the beginning of the film into the first groove of the reel until it holds in place.

Step 2 Start winding

Place your right index finger on the edge of the film to hold it in place. Turn the right reel half (flange) clockwise as far as it goes.

Step 3 Continue on the other side

Repeat the same motion on the left flange.

Step 4 Keep winding

Continue rotating the left and right reel halves back and forth alternately. This draws the film smoothly into the spiral groove until fully loaded.
