We're building a cine film processor
We're building a semi-automatic, motorized film processor for Super 8, Double 8, and 16mm. The project is called Frank. Follow the build diary from prototype to production.
For the past few months we've been working on something new. A semi-automatic, motorized film processor for Super 8, Double 8, and 16mm motion picture film.
The project is called Frank. It uses the same time-compensation engine as AGO, applied to cine formats. You pour the chemistry. Frank handles agitation, timing, and temperature compensation. One standalone unit, under one litre of chemistry per fill.
We're building it in the open. Design decisions, prototype tests, and dead ends, written up as they happen.
